This Year our Year 7 students have chosen a local charity ‘Restart the Heart’ as their charity fundraiser. This is a local charity that aims to provide Liskeard with a defibrillator; a life-saving piece of equipment to support the community. So far the school has held two cake sales and have participated in the ‘Wear it Red Day’ to highlight the British Heart Foundation’s message.

Liskeard students have been discussing democracy and voting by engaging with the Cornwall Youth Parliament elections. As a school we had the second highest percentage of students voting out of every secondary school in Cornwall, gaining Liskeard a Bronze Democracy Award!

On Friday the 23rd of January Liskeard School & Community College Sixth Form had the pleasure of meeting Jason Beattie, who is the political editor for The Mirror newspaper. He spoke to Years 12 and 13 students about his role at the paper and experiences, and about current political affairs.
