As part of the ongoing 12 Days of Christmas activities, on Thursday (10th December) students got involved in a 'Giant Sprout Slinging Contest'.

Students organised themselves into teams of 3, each with 3 giant sprouts (tennis balls) to throw, they were aiming for 3 targets (the smaller the target and furthest away, the higher the points). The team in each year group with the highest points wins a tub of Heroes.

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may be aware, Mr Pickles, our Operations Manager, has been fundraising for our students to bring some Christmas cheer at the end of what has been a difficult year for them. The generosity of the local community has been incredible and we are in a position to provide every student at school a free Christmas dinner next Tuesday.

Sadly for some students this may well be the only Christmas dinner they get this year as families across the county, not just in our school, struggle with the pressures caused by coronavirus and its impact on livelihoods and incomes.  James Beard once said ‘Food is our common ground, a universal experience.’ and with that in mind, on the 15th December our students in their bubbles will be enjoying a festive meal.

Today for the twelve days of Christmas, students were asked to bring in cakes to share with their tutor groups.

7I really came up trumps. Miss Hammond, their tutor is really proud of their outstanding effort.

Following some wintery showers earlier on in the day, the sun came out for Santa's Welly Wanging Contest during lunch break on Friday.

The winners of Santa's Welly Wanging Contest 2020 were:

Y7 - Harry Carleton

Y8 - George Wood

Y9 - Joshua Pierce

Y10 - Jacob Broadwater

Y11 - Thurlow Watson

Take a photo of your pet ready for Christmas! You could use tinsel, jumpers, reindeer ears or anything that you can think of. We are looking to find the best Christmas pet. Prizes will be awarded. Please email entries to Miss Pritchard by Friday 11th December.

Polite notice: Can we please implore that the animals are not put under any stress for these photos. I know that most of our students are animal lovers and are understanding of this.
