Dear Parent/Carer

Can I remind you that if any student tests positive for CV-19 please notify the school and please continue to follow the guidance where CV-19 signs or symptoms are identified.

As of the 11th January we will have a dedicated email account in relation to the lateral flow testing taking place in school: so you can quickly correspond with us should you have any queries.  Lateral flow rapid testing will only be offered to students attending school, and only where parental consent has been obtained.  Please note your child may refuse to have the test, no-one can be forced to have one.

Dear Parents and Carers of Students in Years 11, 12 and 13,
You may have heard the announcement from the government that the grades for this year's GCSEs, A Levels and AS Levels will be based on teacher assessments. We don't yet know the full details, but assuming it is a similar process to last year, we will be using evidence we have already and from future work to determine these grades. Evidence will be taken from classwork, homework, assessments and any coursework elements completed by the students.
The important point to make for students now is that they need to complete their courses to the best of their ability to enable us to determine their final grades.

Dear Parents and Carers,

With last night's news of the national lockdown, the extended period of remote learning for most students and the cancellation of some of the summer exams, I am sure you have concerns, anxieties and questions about your child's education.

At this moment in time, I have received no more information than was shared last night. The situation as we know it is as follows:

As you will be aware, secondary schools are not reopening this week, except for a small number of Key Worker and vulnerable students (KWV).

Please read the below letter carefully regarding the arrangements for this week for our online home learning provision.

If you have any questions relating to online learning, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at

Dear Parents/Carers,

Arrangements from Monday 4 January 2021 onwards

I am sure that following the government’s announcement yesterday, you have many questions about the road ahead and the return of students to education in the new year.

I do not yet have the full detail of the expectations placed upon us as a school, however, if this last few months has taught us anything, it is that we have a fantastic team and we will rise to the occasion for the benefit of the community we serve.
