Dear Parent/Carer,

Important Notice about Wednesday 3rd February

Next week is Mental Health Week and we would like to give staff and students the opportunity to have some time away from their computer screens to do something more active. We would like to do this on Wednesday (3rd). It would mean that there would be no lessons for periods 3 or 4. Instead we will be setting students a challenge to complete to help with their general well-being. It would also give teachers and Y9 students some free time before the virtual Options Evening later in the day. To this end I would like to end the school day at 12pm, with buses/taxis collecting at 12.15pm.

Dear Parents and Carers,

IMPORTANT UPDATE - please read

I’m sure that many of you heard the update yesterday about the extended school closures. In case you missed it, the 3 key announcements were as follows:

  • The earliest schools might ‘begin to re-open’ will be Monday 8th March, which is the start of the third school week after the half-term holiday;
  • There will be a plan/review set out on Monday 22nd February (the first day after the half-term holiday), with further updates;
  • When the decision to return has been made, schools will get two weeks’ notice of this.

Dear Parents and Carers of students in Years 11, 12 and 13,

The consultation about how GCSE, AS and A Level grades will be awarded this year is now open. Parents, carers and students are invited to take part along with teachers and governors. At the end of this email is a link to the consultation should you wish to take part. For ease, I have listed below the main proposals put forward by the Department of Education and Ofqual:

Dear Parents and Carers,

Feedback
Thank you to those of you who have already completed our survey about the first two weeks of remote learning. We have had 200 responses so far. As is often the case, there is a mix of views, however, it is very useful to read your comments and we are already looking at how we can further improve the situation based on what you have told us. Overwhlemingly though, and very pleasingly, the responses are hugely positive.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Remote Learning - Feedback Wanted
Thank you for your ongoing support and kind comments with regards to the online lessons. Now that we are establishing a routine and have ironed out most of the IT issues, we would like to get your feedback on how the remote learning is working for you at home. To this end, I would be grateful if you could complete the survey below by next Friday (22nd January):
