Dear Parents/Carers,

Should one of our students be tested positive for Covid-19, we need to ensure those who have been in close contact are isolated quickly and sent home as soon as possible. The school will immediately review the situation, contact parents of the students affected and then start a process of sending them home. To this end, please complete the 1-minute online form below by Monday confirming your preferred arrangements for sending your child home should there be a positive case in school.

Who will be sent home to isolate?

  • students in the same class bubble (Y7, 8, 9) or students in the same year group bubble (Y10, 11, 12, 13)
  • students in any other established bubble as the infected person (e.g. bus bubble, Games Club bubble)
  • close friends outside of these bubbles who have been within 2m of the infected person for more than 15 minutes either at social times in school or outside of school
  • siblings of the infected person (if not already isolating)

If we are aware of a positive case before 1.30pm, we will attempt to provide additional bus transport for students who travel into school by school bus or public transport and are unable to go home on their own or who can't be picked up by family. If we are alerted after 1.30pm, the usual bus services will still run, although students needing to isolate may not be able to travel on buses with those not required to isolate. In this scenario we will offer after school care until students can be collected.

Any parents picking up students will be asked to remain in their cars whilst we organise for the students to come out.

Obviously, as soon as we are aware of a positive case, the relevant students will be contained within a safe location in school, to prevent impact on any other students. As soon as they have left site, a deep clean will commence. Online lessons will begin the following day at their usual lesson times via Microsoft Teams.

Please can I ask that you alert Reception to any changes to your contact details as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your support. Please remember to complete the online form by Monday 28th September.
