Recently some of our gifted and talented mathematicians took part in the Year 10 Team Mathematics Competition at Plymouth University. We took two teams under the guidance of Mr Hill, assisted by Ben Townsend in Y13. They had various challenges to complete, including learning how to work in base 6. There was some really tough competition and even though we didn’t win, a great afternoon was had by all.

Intermediate Maths Challenge

Here is a photo of some of our winners who took the Intermediate Maths Challenge. It is completed under exam conditions and set up by the UK Mathematics Trust, University of Leeds. Well done to all our winners with particular congratulations to Mungo Harrison-Ward who came top in the school.

Senior Maths Challenge

To stretch our most able mathematicians, they entered the Senior Maths Challenge. All of them placed either bronze, silver or gold and particular congratulations to Liam Hunt who achieved best in school. Well done to all!
