Liskeard School has recently introduced a Rag Bag recycling centre on the school premises with thanks to the Liskeard School Friends’ Co-operative. A metal bin has been placed in the car park outside the school reception for the recycling of clothes and shoes. The bin has been placed specifically to enable the local community to recycle their unwanted items with textiles being recycled into useful items or sent to Africa and other developing nations.

Rag-BagAs well as supporting the Rag Bags chosen charities the school also gets funding for good causes. Money raised from donations is currently going to the Uganda Trip 2015 Fund. In 2015 a group of year 9 and 10 students will be visiting Uganda and working on worthy causes during their work experience and challenge week.

If you would like to donate your old textiles and shoes please feel free to visit Liskeard School. You will need to place your items in a waterproof bag and deposit them in the tray at the front of the metal bin. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
