In mid-November seventeen students and three staff from Liskeard School and Community College Music Department performed in the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. The musicians, from the School Jazz Band and the Year 11 SAAB Club, performed alongside 650 other Cornish students and staff in a thrilling, specially commissioned new work called 'One and All'.

The 12-minute piece was written for strings, brass, woodwind, percussion, guitars and choir and was performed entirely from memory (no mean feat!), It was so well received by the 5000 strong audience that it got the only standing ovation of the evening. The LSCC performers had been rehearsing throughout the autumn with their fellow Cornish musicians and absolutely loved the whole experience. As always they were marvellous ambassadors for our school, and for Cornwall. The performance can be viewed on YouTube by searching for Co-Create Cornwall Massed Ensemble. Well worth watching for the sheer scale and energy of the performance!
