Through their representation of the wider school community (this includes the parents, school staff and other members of that community), governors help their school improve and provide the best possible education for their students.

Dr Ian Williams
Chair of Governors
During my career, I was an NHS Chief Executive and Director of Adult Services for Social Services. I was a vice-chair in an Academy in Herefordshire before retiring and moving back to Cornwall in 2013. I have been a governor at LSCC since 2014. I am Treasurer for Liskeard Next Steps Stroke Club and also a volunteer for a local dementia support group, Turning the Cogs. My wife is a primary school teacher and I have two children who are both currently studying at university. As a physics PhD, I am keen to promote more students studying maths and sciences in higher education, but more generally that Liskeard School supports and encourages every student.

Mrs Davina Finch
Vice Chair of Governors
I am a former student of Liskeard School, as was my daughter. I am passionate about giving something back to the school. Being a governor takes a lot of time and commitment, but we work closely together to form strong relationships with the whole school staff. I thoroughly enjoy working with Alex and the staff and would like to think we make a difference to the students that attend the school.

Mrs Helen Arnold
Co-opted Governor
I am self-employed so have the flexibility of time to be able to juggle work with governor business and meetings. I offer commitment and am 100% behind the ethos of the school. I have always wanted to help, in any way possible, the schools my children have attended. I want every child to be able to have a good education.

Sarah Berne
Co-opted Governor
I have a background in education and relocated from the North West five years ago. My three children currently attend Liskeard School. In my role as governor I want to support the school in giving every child the opportunity to get the most out of their education and fulfil their potential.

Jenny Brown
Staff Governor

Lynne Butel
Co-opted Governor

Dereen Carnegie-Rance
Co-opted Governor

Trudi Hocking
Staff Governor

Alex Lingard
Ex Offico
As Headteacher of the school I believe it is important to also be a governor. I am ambitious for the school and will do everything I can to ensure we provide the best for every child. I have a young family and enjoy any spare time I get with them enjoying the beautiful county in which we live.

Carl Roobottom
Parent Governor

Mark Wigley
Co-opted Governor
I am a Development Management Officer (planning officer) working for Cornwall Council. I have a long line of interests including the railway, sport (especially rugby and cricket), the great outdoors and photography.
