As part of Plymouth University‚Äôs Widening Participation Programme to encourage students who would not usually consider Higher Education, an experience of what university has to offer was provided at a day to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The students in attendance were from Year 12 and 13.

Students from A level Art and Design and Business Studies attended a guest lecture from Tara Ashe, designer and owner of Block Design, at Plymouth University on 12th December 2013.

In December Sixth Form students were taken to Dairy Crest, Davidstow. The students received advice and guidance on careers in the food industry ranging from Marketing, Engineering and Food Technology. After the lecture we had a tour of the facilities.

On Monday the 19th of November, a group of five AS Business students took part in the Plymouth University Business Challenge.

There were fourteen schools from Devon and Cornwall working on the topic of Upcycling (Recycling products and then selling them for a premium price).

The students at Liskeard School Sixth Form have had another successful set of A level and AS results, and this combined with extra opportunities they have engaged in has put the students in a good position for university, apprenticeships or the world of work.
