Liskeard is a friendly, caring, supportive school in Cornwall with people and relationships at its heart. It is a unique school of extraordinary staff and students and enjoys exceptional support from parents and the local community. We are proud of our school and we are relentless in our approach to make it even better. We take the education of our students very seriously.

At Liskeard we believe that when we work together we achieve more. Being part of a team encompasses a number of important values that are as important in school as they are in life.

We believe that in Team Liskeard:

Everyone is equal and has a voice, everyone should be treated fairly and with respect, everyone takes responsibility for their actions

We want our students and staff to lead happy and fulfilling lives. To achieve this we believe the attitudes of courage, resilience and kindness are of utmost importance. With these attitudes, anything is possible.

We treat all our students as individuals and challenge them to be the best they can be no matter who they are. We have an ethos based on high expectations; we expect high standards of behaviour, excellent attendance and positive attitudes. We have an effective approach to discipline with zero tolerance of bullying. We believe in the traditional values of courtesy, respect, consideration for others, punctuality and taking pride in the uniform of the school.

We provide a happy, safe, secure school and a caring environment for all pupils, especially the vulnerable. We encourage all our pupils to contribute to the local community through our Citizenship Awards scheme and to remember those less fortunate. We have a rich tradition of charity fundraising at the school and we believe you get the best out of children through praise, encouragement and reward.

Someone once said, “It takes a whole village to educate a child.” At Liskeard, we believe this to be true. Our aim is that by working together, the improvements we have secured in recent years in both aspiration and achievement will continue to rise and our community as a whole will thrive.

Update: We've just been informed by the bus company that the only route they haven't been able to serve this morning is the St Cleer area. They have reassured us that they will be running the normal service this afternoon. We're sorry if students haven't been able to get to school today. Over 85% have made it in, but we understand that it was too difficult for some.

Anyone who will now have an exam clash due to the rescheduling of the Art exam for tomorrow and Wednesday will have their exams moved to another day. We are trying to speak to individuals affected today where possible. If you are affected and have not discussed the rescheduling with a member of staff by the end of the school day, then please contact us.

Please note: We now take card payments over the phone on 01579  325718.
