At Liskeard School and Community College we are committed to working in partnership with you. You are the first teacher your child ever had and we want to build on the foundations you laid. Research shows that when the school and parents work together the outcomes for children are better.

There are many ways in which this can be done:

  • Support your child in their studies – encourage them to work hard, to do their homework and to adhere to the behaviour codes that help to keep school running smoothly so that we can concentrate on the learning
  • Attend parents evenings and information evenings – these focus on progress revision; how to support your child; e-safety; options; celebration and performances as well as other aspects of school life
  • Keep in touch and keep us up to date – with contact details; changes in your circumstances that might affect your child in school
  • Give us your feedback – at coffee mornings; through parent surveys; by writing to us. We welcome your views.
  • Volunteer – be an adult helper on school visits or collapsed curriculum days; help in the Library listening to children read;
  • Join the Liskeard Friends Co-operative and help raise funds to enrich the children’s education
  • Become a school governor
