The deisgn must reflect the ethos and values of Liskeard School.

Liskeard School Sixth Form have been working closely with Exeter University to increase the political interest of young people and to improve their understanding of our political system. We have delivered a series of activities which has also involved Skyping the House of Lords and inviting local councillors and members of parliament in for a Q&A session.

Gill Prichard, Director of Sixth Form, said, ‚ÄúThis has been a really interesting project. Both staff and students have really enjoyed looking at various aspects of politics.‚ÄĚ

Students posed a series of questions to the Deputy Speaker Lord McFall when he spoke to us via the internet from his chambers. We also hosted a lively debate with local councillors and our MP Sheryll Murray.

Jessica Hynes, star of W1A, Spaced, Years & Years and recent BAFTA winner, spent the day at Liskeard School and Community College working with students and discussing the benefits of studying drama at school. Jessica is the patron of National Drama and is heading up a campaign to ensure schools keep drama as a valued part of their curriculum. Jessica had heard of the great work at Liskeard School so spent the day working with GCSE and A Level drama students as well as talking to students about how drama has helped them and why it is an important subject to do.
