Year 11 GCSE Success Evening for Students, Parents and Carers

                                Wednesday 19th September 2018, 6.00pm, New Hall

The GCSE Success Evening next week is the first important meeting of year 11 and we would like all students, parents and carers to attend if possible. If you are not able to attend due to other commitments, students should attend independently. It is our first opportunity to continue working together in partnership at the start of the important nine months leading up to the real GCSE exams in the Summer.

Great news for our young carers. Funding may be available from the Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund for our students for activities, emotional health and wellbeing support.

The Duke of Cornwall Benevolent Fund for Young Carers aims to make a difference to young carers either as a group or individually. A young carer is anyone aged 18 or under who helps to look after a relative or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health condition or substance abuse problem where these duties go beyond what would be expected for a person of their age.

Dear Parents/Carers,

At 6am this morning my site supervisor arrived on site to ensure the school was safe to open today. The boilers were all checked and an assessment was made about the site being ready for normal school opening times. At 6.15am, following conversations with members of my senior leadership team and Chair of Governors we decided to delay the start of school by 1 hour. This was communicated to parents via text, on our website and through social media.
