Huge congratulations: to Minnie Bauer, Freya Elliott, Luisa Gould, Freya Hills. Isabel Lees, Lilia Karn, Emma Kenshole, Grace Sobey, Izzy Smith, Christina Vallance, Melissa Zalick in Year 8 and Tarryn Vallance in Year 9, for winning the local heat of the national Magistrates’ Court Mock Trial Competition, in Plymouth.

The competition helps young people to develop their understanding of criminal law, the criminal justice system and how courts work in a fun and innovative way.

It also provides a rewarding and challenging experience and develops young people’s skills in a range of areas including listening, reasoning, public speaking, confidence and the ability to think on their feet.

The team are now busy preparing a new case for the regional heat in Newport, Wales on Saturday 11th May. Good luck!
