Liskeard School and Community College were delighted to host a fantastic pre-Christmas community event, welcoming in over 70 people from the local community for a day of food, drink and entertainment.

The event was organised by Liskeard School teacher Helen Leon, with fantastic help from staff, students, the school’s PTFA, Chartwells, and many others, and follows up on community sessions that took place in the summer. Those that attended these sessions, which helped provide for those in need, had requested a similar event at Christmas time and Mrs Leon and her team of merry helpers were happy to do so.

Mrs Leon was delighted with the response of the entire school community.

“We had a lot of happy kids, with crafts, soft play and games, a lot of happy parents, free food, free clothes courtesy of Liskeard Community Action, and presents for Father Christmas to give out. Huge thanks for those donations, which came from across the wider community of Liskeard,” she said.

“The number of people involved from across Liskeard is too long to list – but congratulations to all who played a part in organising and running such an important and rewarding event,” Mrs Leon added.
