Liskeard School & Community College’s music department hosted their Spring Cabaret Concert, a musical extravaganza, on the evening of Wednesday 16th May.

Featuring an array of talented musicians from across all Key Stages, the audience was treated to an eclectic range of musical styles and genres, which highlighted the diversity and talent within the school. From an amazing jazz band to singing groups, soloists and rock ensembles, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The music department was also delighted to receive a cheque for £265 from Year 10 student Rosie Ugalde. Rosie raised this money by organising a gig which took place in the schools’ Old Hall, as a thank you for all the support for her performances in the Open Mic UK tournament, where she reached the final. Rosie also very generously donated the same amount to Little Harbour Hospice.

During a particularly hectic schedule, Joint Heads of Department Ms Warwick and Mr Bond were delighted by the commitment and enthusiasm shown by the schools’ talented pool of musicians.

“A big thankyou also goes to staff who supported the event, especially with tech and catering requirements. It was also a delight to see so many members of staff, parents and friends supporting the event in the evening. We are also very grateful to Rosie for her generous fundraising,” the music department said.

Thank you to all involved for making the evening such a memorable occasion.
